How do makeup brush MOQ rules work per design, per colour and when mixing shapes?
Typical public MOQ is 1,000 pieces per individual brush design or 500 coordinated sets. Mixing shapes inside a set uses set MOQ; loose multi-design piece orders usually need per-design minima. Confirm per-colourway rules on the quote. Samples are charged and credited on order—no published sample dollar amount.
| Order pattern | Typical public MOQ | What to write on the brief |
|---|---|---|
| Single brush design, one colour | 1,000 pieces | Design / reference + colour + piece qty |
| Same design, additional colourway | Confirm per colourway | Whether the second colour shares or resets the minimum |
| Coordinated set (mixed shapes) | 500 sets | Set contents + set qty (not only loose piece totals) |
| Loose pieces across several designs | 1,000 pieces per design | Qty per design; do not assume designs pool into one minimum |
Published typical MOQ at a glance.
PRETTY’s public typical minimums are 1,000 pieces for an individual brush design and 500 sets for coordinated brush sets. Development samples are charged; when you place a production order, the sample fee can be credited against that order. No single sample dollar amount is published. Lead times are confirmed per project after sampling.

Per design vs per colour—what “design” usually means.
A design is usually one construction reference (for example a numbered finished code or an agreed OEM profile), not merely a marketing name. Colour, handle finish or logo artwork can be a colourway on that design. Whether a second colourway inherits the same minimum or needs its own confirmation depends on materials, finishing and changeover—ask for that in writing on the quotation rather than assuming colours always pool.

Mixing shapes in one PO: set MOQ vs piece MOQ.
Mixing shapes inside one coordinated set is normal: the set MOQ (typically 500 sets) covers the agreed kit contents. Ordering several unrelated single designs as loose pieces usually means each design carries its own typical 1,000-piece minimum unless the quotation states otherwise. Do not convert “500 sets × 5 brushes” into a claim that every shape is automatically below piece MOQ when sold loose.

Unusual finishes and new tooling need separate confirmation.
Special coatings, uncommon ferrule or handle materials, new molds or complex packaging can change preparation and the applicable minimum. The public 1,000 / 500 figures remain the starting point; treat exceptions as confirmation items on your quote, not as unpublished automatic discounts or free upgrades.

Samples stay charged and credited.
Sampling is a separate commercial step from bulk MOQ. Development samples are charged and can be credited on a production order. Exact fees depend on specification—PRETTY does not publish a single fixed sample price. Approve the sample and written specification before treating bulk quantity as ready to run.

How to write quantities on /project so the quote matches.
List each design or set, colourway, quantity and unit (pieces or sets). Note which lines share a set MOQ versus stand alone as piece MOQ. Add logo, packaging, destination and target arrival date. PRETTY reviews the configuration at its own factory in Cangzhou, Hebei, China, then confirms sampling and production terms for that scope.

Questions buyers ask next
Can I mix brush shapes in one makeup brush order?
Yes inside a coordinated set under the typical 500-set MOQ for the agreed kit. Loose pieces across several designs usually follow about 1,000 pieces per design unless your quotation states a different arrangement.
Does MOQ apply per colour or per design?
Start from per design (construction reference). Additional colourways may share or reset the minimum depending on finishing and changeover—confirm per colourway on the written quote.
What is PRETTY’s published typical MOQ?
Typically 1,000 pieces per individual brush design, or 500 sets for coordinated brush sets. Unusual finishes or new tooling may need confirmation beyond those figures.
Are samples free if I meet MOQ later?
Development samples are charged up front and can be credited when you place a production order. Meeting MOQ later does not make the sample free at the sampling stage; confirm fee and credit terms for your specification.
